5. Award Practical Items or Use a Perpetual or Upcycled Trophy
MBYC awarded Nalgene water bottles as trophies for the event and used perpetual trophies for the winners of each fleet.
6. Publicize Your Sustainability Efforts
While we do not have a photo, Skipper D'amy Steward spoke at the Skipper's Meeting announcing the Clean Regatta status and educating all participants about Sailors for the Sea and efforts from MBYC to make the event sustainable. MBYC flew a Sailors for the Sea flag (one of the originals) over the clubhouse all weekend for everyone to see - serving as a constant reminders to all competitors. MBYC has committed to giving an Ocean Steward award moving forward - to be award to the sailor that exemplifies what it means to be a Steward of our waters.
