1. Eliminate Single-Use Water Bottles and Provide Water Refill Stations
There was no single use plastic available. Sailors were advised to use their own drinking containers and use water from the tap or the lake to refill them

there was no provided food but the food available to buy was served in paper containers
on the one dinner, the plates were made of paper and the cutlery was not single use.

the winners were awarded wooden planks with the name carved on the spot, were presented with flower necklaces made of tissue paper and were given presents by the event sponsors, such as Helly Hansen bags, Oakley sunglasses

There is not a lot for us to improve on, in a country like Switzerland and especially in the St Moritz area, so you can't really claim that it was 'OUR' efforts, but we included practices and showcased how sustainable the event was through our media output of the event, in terms of environmental but also of cultural sustainability
7. Involve Local Organizations
The Alphoorn ensemble of Engadin joined the event on day 4, they played some traditional tunes and they showed the sailors how to play.
The municipality of Silvaplana organized a fondue dinner for the sailors, including teaching how to cook, how to eat it and the penalties in case you lose your bread in the cauldron.
The municipality of St. Moritz invited a delegation to visit the location of the 1928 and 1948 Winter Olympics

Everything was clearly marked, event the water containers for rinsing the clothes and shoes

there was only one function involving provided food and it was as local and traditional as it can get: fondue in the Swiss Alps.
