3. Serve Food with Plastic-Free Dinnerware
The Thistle Class supports the Clean Regatta Program. Vermont has a 5 cent bottle return law, manditory recycling as well as composting. We used compostable plates and metal reusable silverware. Emails were sent to the competitors reminding them to bring their own coffee cups and adult beverages were served in returnable cans. Vermont (Lake Champlain) also has a strick law about overboard discharge. Dinner was both meat and veggie lasagna. Competitors were reminded during the competitors meeting that this is a Clean Regatta and that there was a water bottle filling station located next to the official notice board.
